3. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
3.1 Exposure Standards
TWA: 10 mg/m3.
3.2 Engineering Controls
Ensure workplace is well ventilated.
3.3 Personal Protection
Hands and face should be washed before breaks and at the end of shift. The usual precautions for the handling of chemicals must be observed. Do not breath dust. Use protective goggles, protective gloves, dust mask if dust exposure is liekly or expected. Protective overalls.
3.4 Flammability
Not flammable under conditions of use. SAFE HANDLING INFORMATION
4.1 Storage / Transport
Keep tightly closed in a dry cool place. Breathing must be protected when decanting large quantites of product without local exhaust ventilation. Avoid dust cloud formation. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

4.3 Spills and Disposal
Spills
Clean up personnel should wear appropriate protective clothing. Do not breathe dust.
Contain and sweep/shovel up spills with dust binding material or use an industrial vacuum clenaer. Avoid dust cloud formation. Flush away small spills with copious amounts of water for effluent treatment only. Dispose of waste water correctly. Place waste in labelled containers for disposal.
Disposal
Waste must be incinerated or disposed to approved landfill in accordance with local regulations. Packs that cannot be cleaned should disposed of in the same manner as the contents. Uncontaminated packs can be reused.
4.4 FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD Fire / Explosion
Gases and vapours can be generated in event of fire. The degree of risk is governed by the burning substance and the fire conditions. Dust explosion hazard.
Extinguishing Media
Firefighters should wear full protective clothing including self contained breathing apparatus. Use water, alcohol foam or dry extinguishing media. Do not use carbon dioxide as an extinguishing media due to potential of dust explosion. 5 OTHER INFORMATION
Other Information
Ecological effects: Toxicity to fish: LC50 (leuciscus idus): >500 mg/l/96h. EC50 (daphnids): >100 mg/l/48h. Toxictiy to bacteria: EC10: 0.09 mg/l/17h. COD value: 590 mg O2/g. Environmental protection: Inhibition of degradation activity in activated sludge is not to be anticipated during correct introduction of low concentrations. Accumulation in organisms is not expected as a result of the distribution coefficient of n-octanol/water (log POW: -4.3). Elimination information: Experience has shown that the product is difficult to eliminate offluent treatment plants, but was found to be potentially biodegradable.
